At CLiKAPAD, we’re accustomed our keypads being used in conferences, industry events and training sessions – after all, they’re the perfect tool for gathering accurate data from a large crowd. Combined with the ppvote software, the Audience Response System can quickly and effectively poll any live audience for their feedback and opinions, for you to use their responses in real time.
Recently, they were used for a much more dramatic purpose; to decide the fate of the accused in a high-profile court case…
Terror, a play by Ferdinand von Schirach, is centred around the trial of a fighter pilot, forced to make a morally challenging decision in the line of duty. The case is presented over the course of the performance, ultimately building for a judgement to be made – not by a jury, but by the audience.
Currently showing at the Lyric Theatre, Hammersmith, Terror hands the power over to the audience using our own CLiKAPAD handsets, with each participant casting a vote to determine whether the defendant should be condemned or absolved. The cast then play out one of the two alternate endings, according to the verdict decided just moments beforehand.
Terror has received excellent reviews from the national press, giving evidence to our claim that adding interactivity really does increase audience engagement!
We are always delighted to help our clients come up with new and creative ways to use an Audience Response System, so if you’re thinking about how to incorporate one into your presentation, theatrical performance or something else entirely – don’t hesitate to give us a call.
