Our team at CLiKAPAD were contacted by Craig White, Inclusion Manager at Sky Blues in the Community. Craig’s team frequently work with children and young adults, using interactive workshops to promote the importance of leading an active lifestyle.
Based at the Ricoh Arena, Sky Blues in the Community is the official charity arm of Coventry City Football Club. The charity is formerly a department of Coventry City FC, formed in 1993 to deliver football in the community initiatives on behalf of the club.
“We used to rely on paper worksheets, but that wasn’t particularly interesting or entertaining for the youngsters and it created a lot of admin for our team. We wanted a system that was more engaging for the kids, but which still allowed us to measure the level of understanding in each session. By switching to electronic keypads, the entire process is much easier.
“The main benefit is that the children are a lot happier to get involved. They see clicking a few buttons on a keypad as much more fun than filling out a questionnaire, so energy levels are noticeably higher and even the quieter children are more comfortable joining in.
“From an admin perspective, the software makes it easy to create fun visuals and integrate different voting styles into slides. The data we collect from the kids then merges straight into Excel, which allows us to share it internally and use it to plan better workshops in future. Plus, the system itself is incredibly light and portable. Overall, it’s easier, more sustainable and better value than printing and photocopying sheets of paper for each session!
