We were honoured to once again help support the Deaf Sports Personality of the Year Awards back on the 10th of November 2018. The event was held at Emirates Old Trafford Stadium and Lancashire County Cricket Club in Manchester. The award ceremony was held to celebrate the outstanding sporting achievements of deaf and hard of hearing athletes throughout 2017 and 2018.
The Deaf Sports Personality of the Year Awards was awarded a grant by the National Lottery Awards to cover the costs of AV Media, Lighting and Sound equipment. This included the use of our handheld audience response systems and keypads. Our keypads were used at the event to allow the 200 audience members to vote for who they thought deserved to win each category. The live votes were combined with a panel of judges who also voted on the winners to produce a final result in each category.
There were a number of award categories that were voted on throughout the night, including Deaf Sports Personality of the Year, the Lifetime Achievement Award, Coach of the Year and many more.
